Happy 0th Birthday

Grandpa Winkel brought a delicious salmon dinner to share the day after August was born. We decided to continue a tradition that Uncle Randy started when Madelyn was born by decorating a cake for August's 0th birthday. I'm glad my dad was there to celebrate with us. 

 

 

The First Bath

On August's second day of life, he got a bath in the tub.

Madelyn helped, and Loki watched.

August mostly cried.

Bedtime Stories

After August's first day in the world, he joined Madelyn for a couple of bedtime stories.

First Madelyn read him a story herself.

Then Daddy ready a special story called "On the Day You Were Born" (which was a gift to Madelyn when she was born). 

This is a very special book, and Daddy got emotional reading it to his two beautiful babies.

We all went to bed on this special night as a very happy family!

He's Here!

August Lincoln Winter, aka Baby Brother, finally joined our family Sunday, July 29th, 2012 at 7:01am.  At birth he was 8lbs, 1oz. and 21 inches long. He looked a lot like newborn Madelyn, except for a slightly squished nose. :) His full birth story is recorded over at Beyond Mommy.

Our family of FOUR right after August joined the world.

Labor was very intense, but thankfully only 4 hours. 

 

Grandma Winkel was very supportive during labor and birth, Mommy is so grateful to her! August is grandchild #13 in the Winkel family.
